Hurricane Katrina?

Here we go again! Tropical storm Katrina is heading for northern Broward and southern Palm Beach counties. That just happens to be where I live! Conditions are starting to deteriorate now as the Storm is only about 30 miles away from the coast. I was just outside and took a few images. I will post a few in a bit (if the power stays on)

Hello!

Hi Everyone.

Looking forward to sharing some photos and artwork with you. While nesting season is winding down, the hatchlings are emerging like crazy these days. Stay tuned for more images of leatherback, green, and loggerhead sea turtle hatchlings and beach landscapes as the summer sizzles on.

recent uploads

I recently uploaded a few images of stranded turtles. Not the most beautiful subject, but it is important to document. This season I have witnessed about 6 dead turtles on the beach in Palm Beach County. Most, like this adult female green turtle were hit by boats!
There are quite a few stories recently about the red tide event on the southwest coast of Florida. There was a peroid when 30 turtles washed up dead due to the red tide. More information can be found here: Clearwater Marine Aquarium red tide page
