Just Passing Through

Over the past few weeks, a few vacationing visitors have been stopping by our yard. We've seen kestrels and most recently, painted buntings. The kestrels fly overhead, occasionally calling and making themselves obvious, or sit in our Norfolk Island pine and bother the other birds. The buntings come to our feeder and sit on the fence with the cardinals. It is so cool how these birds come back to our yard, year after year. These little guys are SO bright and beautiful, makes you wonder how they were selected for such splendor! Guess the females really dig the flashy guys!

Chris and I are headed up to Cape Cod this week and hope to photograph some of the wintery seashore while we're there. It should be beautiful and a nice touch of winter to help us get in the holiday spirit. Speaking of holiday spirit, it's time to buy your holiday gifts, and why not give a gift everyone can appreciate...including the planet! Get your reusable shopping bags here!

2006 Sea Turtles of Florida Calendar

It makes a great holiday gift for someone who loves sea turtles! The 2006 Sea Turtles of Florida Calendar is now available. The calendar contains 12 images of sea turtles captured on or near the beaches of Florida - where we conduct our research and rehabilitation work. A portion of the sale of the calendar will be donated to the Marinelife Center of Juno Beach leatherback sea turtle research program. The calendar contains some neat images like this leatherback sea turtle with a satellite transmitter taken during the daylight this past summer! Check out the calendar here
