Cuban Knight Anoles

I had thought Hurricane Wilma had taken care of removing most of the Cuban Knight Anoles from the neighborhood, but I was wrong. This morning I have found three adult lizards already! This is an image I took yesterday of a lizard in the backyard eating a dragonfly. These lizards are not native and will often eat native lizards. Maybe they will eat a few of the iguanas??

Beachfront lighting

Lights that illuminate the beach can cause sea turtle disorientations. Sea turtle conservation volunteers on Singer Island Florida record many hatchling and adult sea turtle disorientations each season. View the image here

Jupiter lighthouse

I will often stop at the Jupiter Inlet at night. On April 9th at about 3:30am this was the sight. I always like when the moon sets behind the lighthouse.
